New Mexico Space Grant Student Launch Program Launch Program 2009 Summer Institute 2009 Launch Program 2008 Student Launch at Spaceport America is scheduled for May 1, 2010 Please contact Aaron Perez at 575-646-6414 or aaperez@nmsu.edu for more details. Please check our FAQ's New Mexico Space Grant Student Launch Program is THE education opportunity for New Mexico students to design experiments that use the environment of suborbital space to answer scientific and engineering questions. New Mexico Space Grant Consortium facilitates student experiments for university, college, community college, and high school teams. The potential for economic benefits to accrue to New Mexico and our nation from Spaceport America will depend on whether our teachers, faculty, and students are given opportunities to learn to compete in the emerging space industries coming to New Mexico. The 2006 Space Foundation “Space Report” indicates people who work in the space sector earn twice what employees earn in other sectors of the economy. This program helps prepare the workforce for the challenges facing New Mexico. Bolstering the capability, knowledgebase, and flight experience of New Mexico students and faculty allows them to more ably compete in their academic careers and will also aid the state in attracting high tech business to the region. For more information, contact Aaron Perez at aaperez@nmsu.edu or (575) 646-6414. |
