Please submit a one page abstract and a 3-5 page paper
electronically as an email attachment, using WordPerfect, Word, or Adobe,
to jwatkins@pathfinder.nmsu.edu.
Abstract deadline is Monday, October 17, 2005, paper deadline is Monday,
November 28, 2005. For instructions on paper formatting requirements,

To assure a high quality conference, all papers will be reviewed. There
will be an award for Best Paper. The author of the “Best Paper”
will receive support to attend a national education conference. All papers
will be published in the conference proceedings on the New Mexico Space

• Effective use and assessment of technology as a teaching tool
in science, engineering, mathematics, and technology education
• Overcoming institutional and disciplinary barriers in developing
cross disciplinary classes, team taught classes or capstone design classes
• Strategies for assessing student learning; strategies for assessing
teaching, peer reviews, peer observation, successful methodologies or
instruments which can be used in the annual review or P&T process
• Combining research and teaching in the classroom
• Special challenges in STEM teaching
