Students complete a Sensory Learning Style Inventory and an Interactive Learning Style Inventory. (PDF) The instruments are self-scoring, therefore, all students know their learning styles once they complete the instruments. Results of student learning styles are given to faculty to facilitate use of alternative teaching strategies. GRASP staff observe participating faculty classes weekly to measure interactions between faculty and students and among students, and to observe teaching strategies used during class. GRASP staff and participating faculty meet monthly to discuss alternative teaching strategies based on data collected during class observations. After each observation GRASP staff and faculty discuss the observations and alternative teach strategies. GRASP faculty incorporate suggested teaching strategies into their courses and create positive interactions with students in and outside class. |
